As I'm waiting on a train at the station one morning, a young guy approached me and said "Ma, het Ma nie vir my 'n R3.00 vir 'n ticket nie?" (Don't you have a R3.00 for a ticket"). 

I could see he is a beggar but not the ones genuinely in need for food etc. I said I don't have - cause I really didn't have any extra money and he walked on to the next person. The guy he asked is a foreigner and he gave him a R10.00.

As this young one came back he had to pass me again and I asked with a laugh why he's lying to people; cause he clearly has no intention of buying a ticket with that money.

He obviously denied it and told me he was just not in a hurry to buy the ticket just then... but he does need the money urgently as he plans on going somewhere later today to attend a party.... 🙄🤔🤦

Life... as I know and experience it...: Rhino......gitis....???: My 10-year old son has not been feeling well for a few days and at one point accused me of not caring about him... just because I didn't...

My 10-year old son has not been feeling well for a few days and at one point accused me of not caring about him... just because I didn't take him to the doctor...
I thought the medicine I'm giving him would do the trick!

This was during a time the school was having their Revue... for 6 nights this year and I know they're all extremely tired and that could add to him not feeling so perky.

Then one afternoon he told me that his neck "pulled stiff" at school and the secretary put an ice-pack on... which helped a little. But then he complained that his class teacher also didn't care much as she didn't really respond when he mentioned it to her afterwards... So me and Teacher were very much in the same league of "not-caring-adults"!

Eventually I asked my husband who was at home, to take him to the doctor as he kept saying he's not feeling good. I went to work as usual and when I got home the evening, I had a look at the medical certificate and when I saw the diagnosis, I felt like the worst mom ever!

RHINOPHARYNGITIS!!!

"Dear Lord! Is my child dying??"... was my first thought! And why on earth didn't my husband phone me when he got the feedback from the doctor??!!! A disease with that name can only be extremely serious.... Or is it not??

So I decided to consult doctor Google before I had a total fit...

Rhinopharyngitis is nothing but a "Common Cold"...

PHEW!!!! What a relief!

But did the doctor really have to put that terrible name on the certificate?

Anyway... my boy is doing fine... and feeling better day by day!
